Mentoring

Pick your topic and learn what you want, when you want.

For some, our scheduled events and courses are not convenient or clash with existing commitments.  For others, one-to-one guidance offers a more focussed and time efficient way to learn about subjects that matter to you.

We have developed a mentoring service to help empower you to learn what you want, at a pace that works for you.

As industry leading outdoor educators with decades of experience, we're confident we can help you get the best out of yourself.

Below is a guide to how it works...

What can I learn?

Picture for a moment our indigenous ancestors.  People living in tune with nature.  People with deep knowledge of the seasons, animals, plants and rocks.  Humans able to support themselves and their families only with the knowledge in their minds and their muscles - the result of thousands of years of living with the land.  This collective genius is one definition of bushcraft. Cool eh?  Overwhelming..... perhaps.

It's a big subject.

In our experience, there is a lifetime of study in any one of the subjects that make up 'bushcraft';  wild food, tracking; primitive technologies, navigation, fire, the list goes on.  In reality, however, most of us don't aspire to become a modern-day hunter gatherer.  Some topics grab us and call out to us as important.  This is the best way to get started - go with where your passion lies and follow that trail as far as it takes you.

In short, we can mentor you in any of the major subjects of bushcraft.  Some topics require more practical input than others and will take more hands-on effort from the learner - more 'dirt time'.  Other subjects benefit from book study and guidance from us on where to focus your research.  We'll tailor a programme thats right for the subject, right for your skill level and right for your learning style.  Having taught 1000's of students over the last 20 years helps us shortcut common mistakes, makes learning more efficient and gives us a unique perspective so that we can help you.

Below is a broad list of questions that you can ask yourself.  If you answer yes or maybe to any of these, there's a good chance that our mentoring service could work for you. â€‹

How is mentoring delivered?

In-person mentoring is an option, but the most cost effective and efficient way for both of us to meet is usually online.

Mentoring starts with a free 15 minute phone call to chat about your needs and learning style.  With this we can make a plan for your programme.

Sessions are 1 hour and can be moulded around both our schedules.  We meet online for the session and then it's likely that we'll set some additional tasks for you to complete in between the sessions.  This really helps maximise the learning.

Sessions are priced as follows:

Standard sessions - £50 per hour

Low income concessions - £35 per hour

Corporate rate or for anyone intending to work commercially - £70 per hour

A 10% discount is available on standard priced sessions when 8 or more sessions are booked in advance.    â€‹
